ABOUT THE PACK

Baychimo draws from Webcore, Frutiger Aero, retro computer interfaces and the early web, filtering those influences through IDM, footwork, glitch, electro, breakbeat and downtempo.

The drum material moves between groovy drum-machine rhythms, crunchy percussion, fractured electronic hits and more experimental rhythmic details, giving you foundations that can move from club-focused tracks into stranger, more abstract territory.

Across the melodic material, bubbly synths, digital stabs, bass textures and lo-fi electronic tones capture the bright, slightly uncanny character of early computer culture. Sounds can sit cleanly inside a production or be chopped, stretched and processed into something completely new.

FX, impacts, risers and glitch-heavy sound design bring the pack’s digital world into sharper focus, with computer-inspired ear candy, strange transitions and processed textures designed to add movement and detail around the core musical elements.

Inspired by the 90s IDM rave and ambient scene, the collection feels like it could have been downloaded to your childhood home computer through an experimental, slightly dodgy peer-to-peer service. Baychimo is the electronic music project of producer Frederik Meyer, exploring the space between IDM, glitch, breakbeat and experimental electronic music. His work draws heavily on the visual and sonic language of early computers, retro gaming and internet culture, combining nostalgic digital textures with intricate rhythms, playful sound design and forward-thinking production.

Following the release of his 2026 album Personality Computer, this Soundsmiths collaboration opens up the Baychimo sound world for producers, translating the character, textures and production techniques behind the project into an extensive collection of 409 sounds.
