ABOUT THE PACK

Distorted Figures pulls together warped melodies, damaged textures, blown-out bass and sounds that sit somewhere between alternative hip hop, experimental rap, dubstep, hyperpop, R&B, rock and metal.

Drawing from the fearless approach of artists who helped pioneer and push this space forward, including JPEGMAFIA, Danny Brown, Vince Staples and Injury Reserve, the pack was made to be rapped on, but not in the usual way. The loops leave room for vocals while still feeling strange, heavy, hypnotic and slightly unstable.

Nothing is too polished or predictable. Guitars bend into synths, melodies feel half-broken, drums hit with abrasive weight and familiar hip hop ideas are pushed into stranger territory. Serum presets open up the sound-design side of the collection, moving through heavy basses, glitch textures, leads, chords and evolving electronic sounds.

At its core, Distorted Figures is about twisting rap production into something more personal, uncomfortable and hard to place.
